Planning and re-planning a wedding
Is it ok to start talking about weddings again? Its been such a taboo subject for a while now and I totally understand why. I wrote in my last blog how guilty I felt about feeling upset about postponing my wedding, and the response I got was overwhelming. Its given me more confidence to start talking about my wedding again, and starting to get excited for the new date (November this year, fingers, toes and basically every limb crossed).
If you have got engaged in the last few weeks, I salute you. You probably had to change your plans significantly (think the couple who got engaged in Iceland the supermarket when the real plan was Iceland the country) and haven’t been able to celebrate as you would’ve liked with friends and family. Arguably, that doesn’t matter because you’re ENGAGED! The party with your loved ones will happen, but for the moment you get to have that glorious engaged, cloud 9 feeling in quarantine with the one person you want to be with more than anything else in the world (until you start driving each other crazy in isolation together, but let’s forget that bit). It also means you can legit start wedding planing with no other distractions, and that’s such a win.
So for me, the planning begins AGAIN.
In all honesty, there is very little to plan at this point because we’re basically rolling everything over from our previous date to the new one. Sure, we need to redo seating plans, re-think flowers and reprint some order of services, but on the whole the real brunt work of planning a wedding has already been done.
But what if you’ve still got loads to do? Or are you newly engaged and not sure where to start?
There are so many incredible wedding creatives out there to talk to. A quick google search will give you a huge list of people, but are they exactly what you want? Go specific on your search criteria and you will find the right person for you. Or, have a look at things like London Wedding Breakfast Club directory for really great bespoke wedding suppliers who you will really gel with.
Lets start getting excited about weddings again, because love cant be cancelled.
